Detroit 187 is a forthcoming T.V. drama that is proposed to begin on September 21, 2010 on ABC, an American network channel. Some episodes of this show are shot in Georgia and Atlanta but most of the episodes of the series are shot in Detroit. A drama is filmed in mockumentary style but ABC abandoned the format and scenes were reshot to change the format of the show before it starts. The show is based on crimes that explore various crannies and nooks of the community and what’s best for Detroit. The writer of Detroit 1-8-7 is Jason Richman and the executive producers are David Hoberman, Richman, David Zabel and Todd Lieberman. The director is Jeff Nachmanoff. The series starring Michael Imperioli as Louis Fitch, Natalie Martinez as Ariana Sanchez, D.J. She belongs to a very rough background but becomes a star of her department. John Stone is a Narcotics cop who is very clever, quick and a smooth talker. Stone and Sanchez are partners who present sexual tension and conflict in the drama. Sergeant Jesse Longford wants a retirement after 30 years of service but holds off as he loves his job and his city. Long ford’s partner, Vikram Mahajan, an Americanized citizen from India, is a new member of the force. He is a combination of enthusiasm and experience, instinct and intellect.

The premise of the drama Detroit 1-8-7 is simple. It picturizes the homicide unit of Detroit Police. It focuses on the life of detectives and their relationships with one another. It is the first series which is shot entirely in Detroit. Michael Imperioli is the main character of the show that gets the entire job done with conventional or unconventional methods. A sexual tension between Fitch and Sanchez is interesting. The show has potential to engage the viewers. The characters are well developed, the story is funny and the humor of the show succeeds by its tender scenes. Producer David Zabel tries to present a different picture of Detroit than the media has portrayed. It is a challenging job for him to accomplish a different image of city in a procedural drama. The mysteries are found resolved by the climax of each episode in the series.
